Chef Raquel Carena has developed quite the loyal following for her homely cooking, with at times exotic twist on traditional favourites.
Indeed, her cuisine is so respected and beloved that star pastry chef Pierre Hermé visits this little restaurant cum wine bar in Belleville at least every two weeks just to get his dose of Carena’s delicious home cooked fares.
Her native Argentinian influence delights the senses through such cheerful little creations as tuna carpaccio with cherries, and roast Basque lamb with new potatoes and spinach, and hazelnut pudding. Both are a must!
And don’t forget, Le Baratin is also a wonderful wine bar with one of the best selection of organic wines in the city.
Bref (as the french say) this all means you better be sure to book, as Le Baratin is popular to say the least.
