Roger la Grenouille is legendary for its tasty amphibian based culinary cuisine. Yes, we are talking about frog legs, and frog inspired dishes of all kinds. Even the design hasn't escaped the 'froggie' influence with frogs on the windows, frogs in the photos, and on the pottery mantelpieces. Yet, the most exciting featuring of frogs is on the menu.
We have to admit all fares here are delicious, hence the restaurants 115 year history, but nevertheless we do have our favourites. Do try such old time classics such as frog fritters with béarnaise or bordelaise sauce, or ‘frogs a la persillade’ (with chopped garlic and parsley). Or go adventurous but tasty with a ‘frog burger’ made with minced frog meat, pan-fried inside a freshly baked bun and accompanied by salad, onions and a creamy tartar sauce.
The memu also features non-frog based dishes like lamb chop in thyme sauce accompanied by a puree of celery and the popular piece of mature beef (for two) with potatoes and bacon, but we think when in Rome...
