Located opposite the Louvre, this 1920s inspired bar cum restaurant serves your cocktail with a dash of class. We love the dark wood decor, parquet floors, soft velvet and leather armchairs, bygone era paintings, mozaics and posters that deck out the joint.
The atmosphere is old chic with soft music playing throughout the day, conversations held at regular sound decibels, and waiters that seem to drift in and out of one's peripheral vision as if floating on air.
U don't just visit Le Fumoir to have a drink or a meal, although both the food and the cocktails are delicious. U visit, as people once did during the Lost Generation era, to take in the scene (whether at the outdoor terrace or inside), read and catch up on the news (the venue provides 15 different newspapers), play a game of chess with a pal as you enjoy a beer, and maybe at the end of the day settle in for a full meal.
If U do stay for lunch or dinner we recommend you try the delicous beef with pine nuts, bone marrow, sauteed potatoes and red wine sauce, or the mouthwatering duck breast sautéed with chanterelle mushrooms, fresh figs and creamed celery.
Whatever U decide a coffee, drink, or a full meal - a visit to Le Fumoir is well worth the trip.
