Just around the corner from Cours des Halles market, sits this unique bar that opens up to the hussle and bustle of St-Germain-des-Prés. The atmosphere appears to be something out of a Parisian rom-com film - easy attitute, drinks on constant repeat, and waiters camera ready.
Ironically, depsite its picture perfect feel and the touristy area, this is not a tourist trap, the locals here outnumber the tourists a few times over.
The cuisine at Le Bar du Marché is simple but also tasty and comforting. For starters do try the semi-cooked foie gras with toast or a plate of herrings and apples in oil. Then move over to a beef sashimi accompanied with a risotto dauphine in Cantal. And do be sure to check out the wine list as it is well-edited and pairs well with the menu, and is affordably priced.
Over all, this little restaurant and bar is quite the find for an area so overloaded with tourist traps.
