Famed chef and restauranteur Guy Savoy recently gave Le Petit Retro a remodelling, yet they have kindly retained the old fashion charm that has made this bistro so renonwed, including its flowery tiles, vintage coffee machine and handsome zinc bar.
While on the menu, old school French fare and bistronomic dishes still have their pride of place such as tartine of marrowbone, stuffed tomatoes and vegetable dishes “en cocotte” overseen by Chiberta chef Irwin Durand and Guy himself.
The 16 arrondissement is considered to be quiet chic, even if at times old timely, so do have a look around the room for the odd celebrity and politician spotting. Le Petit Retro has is an institution in Paris, so it is not unusual to discover local celebrities eating just at the table next to yours.
Business lunch, romantic dinner.
Sardines with seaweed tartar & lemon to squeeze; hand-cut beef tartar with argan oil & homemade French fries; old style veal stew with Vénéré black rice & violet mustard and fried veal sweetbread with crushed pistachios & nuts , mashed potatoes & mushrooms sautés.
Great wine edit.
Opened since 1904, a Parisian institution, delicious Traditional french bistro fares, great selection of wines, friendly and attentive staff, located in the chic 16th arrondissement.
